Condition is for the set overall is Good. The exterior of the hardcover books are in very good condition and include all maps inside the back of the books. The dust jackets have extreme sun damage on the spine and damage to the top of all dust jackets. The box has minor shelf wear on top and bottom.
In The Fellowship of the Ring, the Prologue has 4 pages where passages have been underlined in pencil or pen. In the Forward- page 7, a phrase of 8 words was underlined in pencil. In the Prologue- page 10, a phrase of 8 words was underlined in pencil. In the Prologue- page 15, a phrase of 9 words is underlined in pen. In the Prologue- page 17, a phrase of 11 words were underlined in ink.
