Little Women Little Men & Jo's Boys Box Set 1946 Louisa M. Box set of the classics "Little Women" & "Little Men and Jo's Boys" by Louisa May Alcott. These are hardback editions published in 1946 by Little, Brown & Company. I'm going to list all the flaws I found, which is going to make these books sound like they are in terrible condition, but they're not. I'm not an expert, but from what I can tell from researching how to grade a book, these are in good condition.
All flaws observed are photographed. The box they come in is faded, stained and torn on the open edges. Both books have their dust jackets. The colors of "Little Women" are vibrant, but the edges are torn.
"Little Men and Jo's Boys" is faded and badly torn. A previous owner has taped it. The edges are also torn. "Little Women" - cover is slightly stained, edges are bumped and slightly stained, page edges show aging and are slightly stained, binding is bumped and slightly stained, binding is slightly slanting. Inside pages have the owner's name in the front and back, there is a small tear on inside cover, pages are slightly stained throughout and have a few marks.
Photo of marks and staining is provided as an example. "Little Men and Jo's Boys" - cover is faded and somewhat stained, one corner has some fray, page edges show aging and are slightly stained, binding is bumped at the bottom, binding is separating in the back. There is some liquid damage to the first 4 pages. 1 photo is provided as an example of liquid damage and one is provided as an example of liquid staining. The rest of the pages are clean with no observed marks.
