   The Lord of the Rings, by J. Published by Harper Collins in 1991. This is the Centenary Edition, three volume set, housed in the original Publisher's red slipcase. The books feature John Howe's Illustrations to the dust jackets. Only one printing of this lovely hardback set was ever published unlike its more common paperback counterpart. The dust jackets feature some of John Howe's most famous illustrations, with a Gold Band to the top and bottom with the runes in black.
