Each book has a written inscription. No spine wear, it doesn't look like Edwin read Grandma Sally's gift! The box has some fading. The dust jackets have edge wear. I'll carefully package this, you should have it in mere days instead of up to weeks. We are a small business that curates vintage and unique finds! LORD OF THE RINGS JRR TOLKEN HARDCOVER WITH DJ BOX SET 1978 HOUGHTON WITH MAPS Very nice vintage 1978 boxed set of JRR Tolken's Lord of the Rings. This boxed set was published by Houghton Mifflin Company Boston. This is the second edition from 1978. All books are beautiful black hardbacks with dust jackets and all maps attached in back of the books. Books are 9"x6" and are in excellent condition. The box has a tear at the bottom and a light stain top edge. The Fellowship DJ has some minor tears on spine edges. Please see photos for details.
